Danny Tomicic – Sergeant, United States Marine Corps

Danny Tomicic served as a Sergeant with the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam.
His many honors include a Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, a Combat Action Ribbon, an Overseas Service Ribbon, and a Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation.

Rick Romero – Lance Corporal, United States Marine Corps
Honored July 29, 2008
Rick Romero served as a Lance Corporal with the 1st Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam. His numerous decorations include the Purple Heart, a Marine Corps Commendation Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Combat Action Ribbon, and an Overseas Service Ribbon. Mr. Romero attended Garfield High School and East Los Angeles College, and currently resides in Montebello. We thank him for his exemplary service to our nation. |

Jesse Sweeney Gonzales - Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army Reserve
Honored June 24, 2008
Jesse Sweeney Gonzales is Member of "AMVETS 113" in Irwindale. He Served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve from 1974 to 2000. He received commendations for Meritorious Service, Army Reserves Achievement, National Defense Service, Armed Forces Reserve Service, and Army Reserve Overseas Service. Mr. Gonzales and his family reside in Baldwin Park, where he also servees as a teacher. We thank him for his exemplary service to our nation. |

Lester Wong – Corporal, United States Army
Honored June 20, 2008
Lester Wong is with American Legion Post 276 in Eagle Rock. He served as a Corporal in the 8th Infantry Division of the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. His decorations include a National Defense Service Medal and a Medal of Good Conduct. Mr. Wong is married with four children, and resides in Monterey Park. We thank him for his outstanding service to our nation, and for joining us today. |

Joe Duran – Private, United States Marine Corps
Honored February 06, 2008
Mr. Duran is Commander of American Legion Post 139 in Alhambra, and he resides in Northeast Los Angeles. He served as a Private First Class with the 1st Battalion of the United States Marine Reserves from 1963 to 1971, and earned a National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Duran is a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy, and is married with four children. He wanted Woodrow Wilson High School, and Pepperdine University. We thank him for his outstanding service to our County and our nation. |
