David Sarmiento - Captain and Chaplain, California Air National Guard

David Sarmiento served as Captain and Chaplain of the California Air National Guard 163rd Reconnaissance Wing.  He has served with the Air National Guard since 1995, and his distinguished record of service includes participation in Operation Enduring Freedom.  Throughout his career he has received extensive recognition - including Chaplain of the Year - along with an abundance of commendation medals and ribbons.

We thank him deeply for his heartfelt service to our nation.

Tony Zapata - Petty Officer Third Class, United States Navy

Tony Zapata, Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4696, served as a Petty Officer Third Class with the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969 in Vietnam.  His brave service earned him a National Defense Service Medal, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon.

All of us appreciate his honorable service to our country.
