The Event On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, Sup. Gloria Molina and the L.A. County Board of Supervisors recognized the Belvedere Park Youth Fishing Club of East L.A. and founders David and Rachel Kraft. The club is a fun and educational program that teaches East L.A. youth the sport of fishing. It is open to children ages seven through sixteen and meets every Sunday at 1 p.m. Club members receive fishing supplies and instruction. They also participate in numerous fishing excursions where they learn about marine biology and our natural environment. Recently, the club was featured in “The Fish Taco Chronicles”—a prominent Southern California sport fishing magazine. Founders David and Rachel Kraft also organize the “Belvedere Park Lake Fishing Derbies,” where hundreds of fishermen compete for the “biggest catch.” Sup. Molina is thankful for the Krafts’ generous commitment of their time and resources to the youth of East L.A.
