On Monday, December 11, 2006, L.A. County Sup. Gloria Molina joined community activists, philanthropists, and civic officials at the United Latino Fund Community Grants Awards Luncheon at Tamayo restaurant in East L.A. Approximately 20 non-profit agencies serving the Latino community received $5,000 grants from the United Latino Fund. Unbeknownst to many, the largest portion of the United Latino Fund’s annual donations—60 percent—come from L.A. County employees.
