On Friday, September 29, 2006, L.A. County Sup. Gloria Molina received the Chi Mui Award from the Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) for her commitment to enhancing rivers, parks, recreational areas, and open space throughout the county.  Held at the L.A. River Center and Gardens, other honorees at that night’s gala included L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, environmentalist and artists from “Not A Cornfield,” Earthwise Reusable Bags, Inc., Larry Kaplan with the Trust for Public Land, artist and craftsman Brett Goldsone, as well as the L.A. County Public Works Management Division for their work in formulating the official Los Angeles River Master Plan.
